I saw The Ring in theaters and liked it a lot. I've heard the original Japanese is better, but the American was scary enough for me.CBKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16428761654963246960noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20067083.post-55177885621617181602007-10-15T12:40:00.000-05:002007-10-15T12:40:00.000-05:00have you ever seen "hostel". omg--i watched it rec...have you ever seen "hostel". omg--i watched it recently and i'm still having nightmares.Marissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08887213841166460879noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20067083.post-19133753837118820572007-10-15T11:32:00.000-05:002007-10-15T11:32:00.000-05:00The Exorcist, Hellbound Hellraiser, Poltergeist......The Exorcist, Hellbound Hellraiser, Poltergeist... all scary! Movies like Seven and those kind of thrillers are the ones that scare the bejeesus out of me.

And my verification word was KAUAI. I need to move it up, but have to make sure I have someone with me when I watch it. I agree about the scariest movies being the more disturbing ones. I have seen Texas Chainsaw Massacre and 28 Days Later and I agree that they're both awesome. I will definitely check your suggestions out. Yay!

Spencer- Silence of the Lambs when she's in the dark is so freaky. More traditional horror - Pitch Black is pretty good.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20067083.post-50219881275072196412007-10-14T00:56:00.000-05:002007-10-14T00:56:00.000-05:00PS and Hard Candy. I literally have seen every horror movie imaginable and that is including the underground cult ones, the spooky haunted thrillers and the slasher flicks.

For me though...the scariest movies are the most disturbing.

So for that...you still will have a hard time finding something scarier than the ORIGINAL Texas Chainsaw Massacre. There is little gore (I HATE GORY MOVIES FOR GORE SACK) and so many terrifying scenes...its impossible to recap them all.

Also, The Stendhal Syndrome by Dario Argentino. Its more disturbing than traditionally scary slasher though...but SO scary to me and quite good.

Hmm...another Dario classic--Suspiria...great movie and terrifying.

Also, a great scary ghost story that is actually classy too is:

The Innocents (its old but so good)

And in terms of fear in all ways:
Audition (its foreign and amazing)

I have a ton more I could offer but it depends the type of movie you are looking for.

OHH and in terms of recent scary movies--my favorite of the past few years is DEFINATELY 28 days later. GREAT GREAT and I found it terrifying.

**Stendal Syndrome & Audition come with a warning--high high amount of disturbing content but worth it**Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
