Who says No Child Left Behind doesn't work.


I'm sitting in Barnes and Noble Cafe and I just overheard the question of the day:

"How does the Declaration Of Independence start?"


And you know what? The 8 year old in a line of adults was the only one who knew.

I hope she enjoys her free cup of joe;)

Honestly I didn't know. I would have guessed the "We hold these truths to be self evident" line. WRONG.

When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

That's good writin'.

It's "We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union..." and I didn't even look it up! I can't believe I remember it.
