Dissident Aggressor

Back in the day, I wrote a lot of Livejournal/Blogger posts that were extremely cryptic and seemingly talked in circles. Even though they probably made little sense to anyone who happened to read them, they helped me to think through things that were going on. I've already done my Blogography so I won't get into the details at this point, but in the past my blogs tended to be about two things: nights out and unrequited love. And we're talking college here and the few years after so don't go into the SVR archives trying to read between the lines. SVR is probably the most well-rounded blog I have, if that makes any sense.

So why am I bringing this up? Well, because I have no idea what to write about anymore. I want to use this forum as a place to think through things, but I feel like I can't. It's not that I want to put certain thoughts out there for anyone in Internetland to read, but since I am never going to be the type to grab a pen and write in a journal, this is as good a place as any to organize my thoughts....or, to be honest, to sometimes bitch about stuff that pisses me off.

What I don't want this to turn into is a blog of passive aggressiveness. I think that any blog, unless extremely anonymous, that makes complaints about anyone except for the writer his/herself is being passive aggressive on some level. It's like emailing your significant other to break up. You can put it out there, but you can't say it to their face.

So if I'm not posting Top 7.5 lists of things that piss me off and relaying why I was angry, I'm left with blogging about So You Think You Can Dance? and what movie or CD I most recently saw or heard. And that's fine, I like to blog about those things and it's probably more interesting to anyone who stops by anyway, but you are so only getting a sliver of what's going on in the life of me. I guess if you really want to know the whole story of SVR, we're going to have to talk elsewhere:) Or maybe you could just text me, haha.

It's hard to write about real things to complete strangers and your closest friends. Either people don't understand, or they understand too much. I find myself editing constantly.

So, who do you think is going to win "So You Think You Should Dance?"

God I know how you feel - I'm suffering from the worst blog-blockage ever! Not an actual writers-blockage, because I write plenty, I just don't have anything real to write on my blog about...

And the little voice inside of myself keeps whispering at me:

Get out, get out NOW

And maybe I should. Don't know if I'm quite ready to throw in the towel, though...

I don't necessarily think it's passive aggressive to blog about people or things that are pissing you off. I just think that when you do you need to follow it up with action or a specific conversation with the person. I've definitely felt the need to rant on my blog and then stifled myself because I'm not ready to start WWIII.

Dara- That's a good way to put it, sometimes I want to casually mention that I'm annoyed/angry/sad/stressed, but I can't make it so people won't try to understand too much...if that makes any sense.

Neil- I don't know! I need to make sure my TiVo catches ALL of it this week. I don't know their names yet.

Heart of Darkness- Haha, ignore that voice! keep blogging!

Serena- Oh that's what I meant!! It's like is Brad Pitt was a douchebag to me (not possible, but this is just an example) and I wrote, "SOMEONE was a douche to me today and also totally didn't pay me back." I think it's lame to say it where he can read it, but not to follow it up with actions that will actually address the problem.

Brad, I love you. I'm not mad, nor will I ever be. Please adopt me!

So you'd rather a blogger just call out by name the person/thing that is pissing them off?

I don't consider those sort of blogs passive-aggressive. It's a person's right to say whatever they feel on whatever topic they want to, since it's their personal blog.

I think it's a good way to get frustrations out and I personally use mine as a way to get my thoughts out on paper, since that's how I work things out usually.

Pink Is Neat- Of course you can write about whatever you want and I totally agree about working things out by writing them, but FOR ME, I tend to think that complaining about certain things isn't going to help the situation so I just don't put it out there. There's a ton of stuff I want to blog about, but I usually decide this isn't where I should post it.

Blogography! That is the best term I've heard in awhile. Did you make that up? I think its genius.
