You know what I'm good at (and I'm not talking about what's written in the mens' bathroom): lists.


+ Two weekends ago we went Cabining for Serena's birthday. Except for the unwanted early wake up time, it was better than I expected. And I only say that because close quarters are sometimes not ideal. It worked out, though, and I would venture to say that Serena had a good time, which is most important.

+ This past weekend ended up being great even though it began with no plans at all. Friday night Ali and I hit up Happy Hour (*love*) and were later joined by Brendan and then Serena. I pounded five beers and then we changed location where I had one more. Love me some beer. I had to work the next morning, but really, what's a Saturday shift at work when I am not exhausted?

+ After work I uploaded pictures while waiting to leave for the Wine Party that Nina and Patty were having. The party was so much fun! I love how we started out the evening feeling like adults while discussing the wine and ended with Randi schooling us all on Janet vs Michael Jackson dance moves. Somehow I managed to stay awake until the wee hours of the morning to fully maximize my awesome Saturday night.

+ Sunday was the day I had been looking forward to: my day off. I slept in, shopped a little, relaxed, and then dozed off and on until the game started. I can't believe the Redskins didn't win. I also can't believe the commentator made an opera reference.

+ What else is going on...let' see...Tomorrow we're having sectionals in orchestra and I have not played for two weeks. I usually have very good luck with killing it when I need to, but this time is a little different as my part is beyond difficult because I don't have an A clarinet and don't know anyone who has one for me to borrow.

+ At the moment I am trying to find the perfect picture of me with bangs in order to email a friend to get his opinion. My hair is super long right now and my bangs are about to chin level, but I miss them. What do you think? Just kidding, not that one...how about this one? Ok now for real: what do you think?

+ The last CDs I have purchased are: Kings Of Leon, Eagles Of Death Metal, Goldfrapp, Mark Lanegan, Travis, and Snow Patrol. Given to me were Black Angels and Gutter Twins. #1 on the new Kings Of Leon is amazing.

+ I love that it's finally getting cold out.

More Lists Or You Won't Get Anything:

• I tried to blog some pictures earlier, but it wouldn't work and I wasn't about to sit there and try for the 4th time. Go look at my flickr.
  
• People who steal shit suck at life. Unless you're Winona Ryder because I really liked Little Women and Edward Scissorhands.
  
• I kind of want to read Chelsea Handler's new book.
  
• Anyone agree that Grey's Anatomy is going for the gross out award? I didn't really like the contest.
• My TiVo didn't get America's Next Top Model last night so I watched parts of it on YouTube today while at Pantera uploading pics. I won't spoil it for people who haven't seen it, but I wasn't happy with the decision.
  
• 48 Hour Film Project in DC is quickly approaching...anyone else participating?
  
• I almost bought a yellow shirt yesterday. SO unlike me.
  
• I had a weird/funny dream last night.
  
• I bought Zyrtec today since what I had been taking wasn't doing it's job. We shall see.
  
• The mind is a terrible thing.
  
• My car is being towed tomorrow to get fixed. My rental car gets 24 miles to the gallon-UGH! My car is much better and I miss it.

3's & 7's

In preparation for the upcoming 48 Hour Film Festival that myself and some friends are participating in, Serena, Terra, Lisa, and I headed down to Richmond yesterday evening to do some research on locations.

When we first left Fairfax, I was beyond tired having gotten up at 5am and worked from 7-330, but we had barely started on I66 when I knew it was going to be a fun evening and I would not have to worry about getting too sleepy. With me, Serena, and Terra in my car and Lisa following behind us we were on our way to RVA going the back, scenic way (also known as the way by my house.)

After a quick pit-stop at Sonic for nourishment and some more speed racing down the highway we reached our destination and consolidated into one car for our research. Our plan was basically to hit as many spots on our list of potentials as we could. We made it to the following:

Hollywood Cemetery- Actually, they were closed, but this part of the evening was fun because Lisa spent it slouched down in the backseat;)

The Jefferson Hotel- I love this place. It is gorgeous inside. I close my eyes and can totally imagine myself walking down the grand staircase in my Civil War-era corset and dress.

Byrd/Maymont Parks- We did a lot of driving and walking around here as we checked out the various options for filming including the paddle boats and cemetery. We also came upon a family reunion of sorts where a huge group was taking a family photo. I really wanted to ask if I could jump in for just one shot, but decided against it. I also gave a "look" to a car that almost hit us while we crossed the street.

James River/Scary Bridge- From Maymont we decided we wanted to find the James River and followed the signs to the Texas Beach. This seemed fitting since Serena is from Texas, but we realized later we just didn't hike far enough. Oh wait, HIKE you ask? Yes, we hiked in nature. We went down a steep-ass hill and then crossed a scary bridge thing where I was confused we would die. I texted my sister, "We're at the Texas Beach in case we don't return." We made it back, though.

Skyline Bridge- This isn't the official name of where I took my car load, but it's one of my favorite views and one I make everyone see when they visit Richmond. "Don't look! Look the other way! Do not cheat!" I yelled until I had U-turned and they could see how pretty downtown Richmond really can be when lit up against the darkening sky.

Shockoe Slip/Bottom- I really like cobblestones apparently as I cited them while brainstorming for each of the different genres of movies. Western move..."Cobblestones!" Film Noir..."Cobblestones!"

Church Hill- "Is this it?" "We're going up a hill, right?"

Sticky Rice- What trip to Richmond is complete without the best sushi ever? Vanessa joined up with us and we had what is always to be a good time at one of our favorite restaurants.

The evening was definitely a success. We did what we had gone down to do (location scouting) and even had good time while we were at it! Pictures will hopefully be posted tomorrow.

Stare

I tried to go on a photo field trip today around Fauquier County, but during my drive down Spring Road it started raining. No, pouring. It lightened and then stopped as I got to Main Street in Warrenton, so I parallel parked and began to walk around, forcing myself to try to see things different so I would get some good shots.

Then it started raining again.


So now I am in Pantera Bread trying quite unsuccessfully to upload my pictures via their free wireless connection. It is not working very well and I'm about to give up and head home. Why is it so difficult for me to get pictures online?!
