It's been a busy weekend...I mean past five days. I'm a rock star:

  • I went to happy hour with S from work on Wednesday and Serena and S's boyfriend also joined us. I had three beers (I think).
  • I was at happy hour for so long that I decided to hang out so I could go out with B after he was off of work.
  • Thursday was a day off for me and after sleeping in and hanging out at home, I went to finally see Batman with B. I liked it A LOT, of course. After the movie we went to Glory Days Holes where we had a really funny waiter- "READY!?" "MEDIUM!?" "CHECK!?"
  • Friday was typical for me where I worked 9-5:30 and then had a panic attack* about not being able to go home, but not being sure what I would be doing. It ended up being okay because B and I went to Fridays to make our plan of attack for the evening and it turned out to be pretty cray cray.
  • After hanging out at Fridays for awhile we went to Hard Times for a drink and then went to Auld Shabeen's to 'crash' a bachelor party someone had told us about. That turned out to be pretty insane because I was the only girl there with about six guys who were drinking a lot. And I had been drinking a lot. I was a lady, of course, but B did have to save me at the end of the evening. (And not from myself...ifyouknowwhatImean.)
  • Saturday was rrrrough as i was going on about two hours of sleep so I just came home after work and recharged.
  • Today I had planned on relaxing and watching the Redskins play, but I ended up having to go get a new tire put on my car. I was told I had risked it for long enough. Having to do car errands ranks high on my list of "Worst Things Ever" and today was no exception-I had to wait three hours!
  • I was okay for awhile...I really wanted to watch the game so i went to the closest place playing it that wasn't a residence: Applebeas.
  • Applebeas are weird. I am not a fan of them.
  • I am also not a fan of sitting at bars alone, but I did it. It helped that I think I looked kind of snobby**, so no one really bothered me....well, until I was about to pay and a man across the bar offered to buy me a drink. Sweet...and awkward...but I was glad I was already paying and could get out of there.
  • After that excitement, I headed north to meet up with B and J to go to a trial run for the new Blue Ridge Grill in Brambleton. Whoa was that good! We got two appetizers, entrees, two desserts, and three alcoholic drinks each...for free! I highly recommend that place. It was wicked good. We were stuffed when we left, though.
And that brings us to now...and I'm about to hit the hay!

SVR

Hurry Up And Wait

Things I must update you on asap:

  1. Harper's Ferry/Winchester with Ali.
  2. Smashing Pumpkins in Philly.

It looks very fall-like outside. The rain mixed with the fallen leaves makes it appear colder than it actually is. In addition to complaining about my schedule too much, I am sure you are also sick of me complaining about the weather. But holy hell, 24 October and it's not cold yet? I am actually debating wearing tights with my skirt today because I don't want to be hot. What???!!! That's just wrong.

In other news, I have leftover pizza and that is exciting.

Like Spinning Plates

For awhile I felt like I was getting in a lot of home time. Time to catch up on tv, movies, magazines, and books. Time to kind of lounge around and relax. But now? I feel like I am never home. I come home to sleep. And change. And grab a bottle of water. And then I am out the door again.

It's fun being a busy girl, but tiring...and some times stressful*.

In The Fade

School is kicking my ass. No, let me rephrase: School is trying to kick my ass. I won't let it. I'm working on what is currently a 16 page paper that isn't even near completion. After this I have to write a 3-5 page paper for Thursday, and a presentation for the following week (that I have to meet with my partner for on Wednesday morning). Meanwhile, I need to be thinking about two research papers...no, three a few more baby papers and at least three annotated bibliographies.

1) I feel busier than ever and I'm not sure why. I had to email my paper partner my schedule and I apologized for the lack of free time. Now that school and orchestra are back in session, my hours unplanned are severely limited.

2) I loathe group work. With such passion that I can't think of words bad enough to describe it. It's not that I dislike working with others or get bad partners, I just feel like it takes more time than it could if I did it by myself. And I don't like being told when to work. I would rather procrastinate on my own!

3) I think a class that is on a Saturday from 9-430pm is cruel.

4) THIS IS MY LAST SEMESTER!!!!!!!

OK, #4 really helps. Back to writing this paper because as soon as it's done, I can write about San Francisco! In the meantime, go look at my pictures and comment, please.

My Body Is A Cage

I know it's my subconsious at work, but the moment I have to do something, I decide it's time to do everything else. Do you know how badly I want to make mix CDs right now? It's all I can think about. (Okay, not all I can think about. I'm also thinking a lot about boys. That's right-boys. I mean, men. Ew, no. Guys-there we go.) And my clarinet? I'm super motivated to practice and perfect my orchestra pieces, which never happens. The practice part, I mean. Perfection comes naturally;) Along with practicing the clarinet, I'm ready to tackle the bassoon again and hey, I should probably pick up the guitar and bass while I'm at it.

I haven't even announced Superlative winners! I was (am) so excited about this, but it's been moved to the backburner as much as I hate to say it. What is more important to me: making a Special Education Resource Notebook or printing up something flashy to announce who won what Superlative. Hmmmmm, take a guess.

I have three camera sitting around just begging to be used. I have pro Fotki and Flickr accounts gathering dust and the sky is so bright* and lovely for photographs. The other day I decided to go out with themes for the day to take pictures of. Things like: patterns, flowers, faces, etc. What fun!

But no fun until this effing project is postmarked and in the mail on Friday. So until then, except for the random blog, I will be pushing my fun stuff to the side to finish this project. (Have I mentioned I hate school? Always have. Always will.)

Oh but the moment this project is in the mail? Do you know where I'll be? ON MY WAY TO WINE WEEK! OHhhhhhhh yeah. And we're doing some happy hour shiznit afterwards and if you know what's good for you, you'll join us. If you don't know me, email me for my # and if you do know me, I'll see you there.

SVR

*Still not happy about spring. Still hate spring. Achoo. Hate.

Barely Listening

I keep sitting down at my laptop, with iTunes open, ready to make a new mix CD and it's just not happening. Partly because I can't stop listening to #9 and #10 of Pilot Speed's Into The West album, but also because my concentration levels are apparently just broken.

I watched Heroes the other night when I got home after a gazillion hour day so I essentially have no idea what happened in the episode. Last night, Steven told me to rewatch it, but I couldn't because I was busy not paying attention to Lost. Even Gilmore Girls on Tuesday didn't fully sink in (!!).

Last night I had really involved, long dreams. At one point I had to take a little puppy on a walk for him to relieve himself. (Luckily, it wasn't a poop-scoop area.) So we go outside and he answers Nature's call and then we head back in, with me being very careful not to step in anything smelly. However, we get back into the school (did I mention I was working at a school?) and apparently someone else had tracked in some smelly dog crap causing it to stink so badly that I almost vomited in a hallway trashcan, ew!

In looking up what dogs mean in dreams, I have gathered that they can represent friendships, which is interesting. As "man's best friend," they can be a symbol of that relationship, but I have yet to find an entry online for "dream dictionary dog poop," so I'm giving up on that one. I just hope it doesn't mean someone's shitting on me-figuratively and not literally, gross.

Like I said, it was a long and involved dream, but the puppy part was the most pronounced. The other parts were more like continuations of my day, or really, continuations of how I would want my day to be:)

One By One All Day

I have a full weekend ahead of me, and for my own mind's sake of keeping it all straight, I am going to have to list it here:

Friday:

+Wake up before breakfast.
+Do a lot of laundry and e-flirting.
+4ish- leave for BN where I will get a white mocha and try to ask about hours. Probably will flirt with people. (Most likely coworkers.)
+6ish- Leave with Allie to go to DC to meet up with our date, Phil. Yes, two girls and one guy and no, do not get the wrong idea. It's going to be a blast, of course, but it's for charity, hence the two of us.

Saturday:
+930am- Orchestra dress rehearsal until 1230pm. This has the potential to suck as we have never played Pictures at an Exhibition all the way through before.
+1230pm- Race off for work. I'm supposed to BE there at noon, oops!
+1ish- 830pm- Work.
+830pm- Leave work with Serena and head to Ali's to change, get hott, and eat fast food.
+930ish- Head to DC for Mousetrap at The Black Cat. (You should go! Look for me, I'll be the brunette wearing black. Oh wait...me and every other girl there;) I love Mousetrap and hope there are plenty of people to interact with. Or to "interact" with if youknowwhatI'msayin'!
+Sometime in the AM- Head back to Ali's. She's letting me stay there.

Sunday:

1pm- Orchestra call time.
3pm- Concert.
6pm- Home to collapse from exhaustion.

I am happy and grateful for a very full weekend:) It's fitting, too, since today marks my self-made start to the BIRTHDAY CELEBRATING!!!!!!!!!!! A week from today is the day before my birthday. I am so excited.
