Feel Good Inc
I'm 30. I'm young and like to have fun. I have no kids. I am free to do whatever I want. So when I have to work at night it really annoys me. I guess I should be grateful to have a job, but why can't that job just occur during the day?
But in order to not make this day a total waste, I am going to the Warrenton Spring Festival. Warrenton, VA is one of my favorite places on the planet. It's the Stars Hollow of VA in my opinion. I haven't been able to go to the Spring/Fall Festivals much over the years because of work or other obligations, but I want to make the effort this year.
I'm tempted to go in disguise, though...am I ready to small talk?!

Well Read
"Why read the book when you can watch the movie??...."
This man approached me after I had explained the sale and said, "You shouldn't say that with children in the building...they don't want to read as it is." I couldn't tell if he was joking. I think I was hoping he was joking because it was such a ridiculous statement. I said to him, "Um, I disagree." and then I smiled because while he was a total douche bag, I didn't want to deal with getting into a debate with him.
Two things:
1) Why knock movies? In my opinion, saying that movies can't be as worthy as books is like saying music is not as worthy as a book and that is just NOT TRUE.
2) Did this man really think that my one sentence was going to cause every child in the building to throw down their books and stage a protest against reading?
When I was little I used to save my allowance to buy books. I read because I enjoyed it and not because some stranger told me it was cool. This man was a tool and I hope his grandchildren are illiterate*.
*Not really. But I do hope they become filmmakers**.
**I'm having an imagination problem lately. Like, where my imagination is on fire! Nick was playing me music earlier and I created an entire horror movie in my head. <3!

In The Fade
1) I feel busier than ever and I'm not sure why. I had to email my paper partner my schedule and I apologized for the lack of free time. Now that school and orchestra are back in session, my hours unplanned are severely limited.
2) I loathe group work. With such passion that I can't think of words bad enough to describe it. It's not that I dislike working with others or get bad partners, I just feel like it takes more time than it could if I did it by myself. And I don't like being told when to work. I would rather procrastinate on my own!
3) I think a class that is on a Saturday from 9-430pm is cruel.
4) THIS IS MY LAST SEMESTER!!!!!!!
OK, #4 really helps. Back to writing this paper because as soon as it's done, I can write about San Francisco! In the meantime, go look at my pictures and comment, please.

Only Ones Who Know
1) Tell a joke. Usually bad.
2) Comment on someone's appearance in a positive way. Usually a new haircut or article or clothing.
3) Do something goofy. Usually a funny expression/face.
4) Use my feminine wiles. Usually just flirting if in the workplace. Also, only with males.
With these four tactics in my arsenal, who can get away from me still in a bad/sad mood?

My Body Is A Cage
I haven't even announced Superlative winners! I was (am) so excited about this, but it's been moved to the backburner as much as I hate to say it. What is more important to me: making a Special Education Resource Notebook or printing up something flashy to announce who won what Superlative. Hmmmmm, take a guess.
I have three camera sitting around just begging to be used. I have pro Fotki and Flickr accounts gathering dust and the sky is so bright* and lovely for photographs. The other day I decided to go out with themes for the day to take pictures of. Things like: patterns, flowers, faces, etc. What fun!
But no fun until this effing project is postmarked and in the mail on Friday. So until then, except for the random blog, I will be pushing my fun stuff to the side to finish this project. (Have I mentioned I hate school? Always have. Always will.)
Oh but the moment this project is in the mail? Do you know where I'll be? ON MY WAY TO WINE WEEK! OHhhhhhhh yeah. And we're doing some happy hour shiznit afterwards and if you know what's good for you, you'll join us. If you don't know me, email me for my # and if you do know me, I'll see you there.

I'm not asking everyone to vote because I just don't think some of them can handle it. I've already had to take the ballots away from one coworker who mocked me and then failed to follow my "Be Quiet" rule. Tsk tsk. Most people are into it...or at least pretending to be into it because they can tell how excited I am about it.
And I'll be honest with you (although it's probably no surprise), I really want to win Hottest. As the one in charge for this little Superlative game, I am privy to the ballots and know most of the names being written down for this honor. I just hope people aren't voting for me because they know I want to win...
Oh and if I do win hottest, I've decided that I get to make out with the males nominated for hottest. Win-win, eh?

Long Distance Call
We went out in a truck to check the "main roads," which turned out to be almost as bad as the back ones. Slipping and sliding was fun with someone who knows how to drive in the conditions, but the thought of my little Elantra trying to make it the 45 miles to work was not a good one. It's not my driving I worry about, but the other guy's.
So I had to call and say that there was no way I could get there now. I will try again later, but for now...I'm going to enjoy my mimosa:)

What I Would Say To You Now
Me: Are you okay?
CoworkerB: Not really. My neck really hurts and I don't know what's wrong.
Me: Oh no! I feel so badly for you:( I hope it feels better soon.
Roughly an hour later
Me: Awwww! I hate that you're hurting. Let me know if I can do anything to help.
At another point in the day I had this conversation:
Me: I really want some chocolate.
CoworkerS: Is that what you kids are calling it now?
Me:Oh, I didn't know you knew your new nickname.
I was on the ball with witty, flirty comebacks today. Anytime I received one I would one-up it on my reply. At the same time, though, and with the same people on the receiving end of my wickedly fun words, I was thisclose to making homemade chicken soup and tucking them in.
This is the dream, right? Mama Bear by day, Flirt Extraordinaire by night. Apple pie and jack and ginger. Loves it.
