I thought Ali was going to have a heart attack. It was 730pm on the dot and the lights had dimmed. Then the band came out. And then...then you heard her voice.
DOLLY PARTON!
Ali is arguably the biggest Dolly Parton fan there is. Of course, the drag queen dressed as Backwoods Barbie may give her a run for her money, but I know Ali, so therefore she wins. And she was ecstatic for the show, which was beyond cute and ended up making me even more excited (as if that was possible). Ali astounded me with her knowledge, though. An example:
Dolly: Someone asked how I met my husband...
Ali: In a laundromat
Dolly:...I met him in a laundromat!
Scarlet: Wow.
And Dolly puts on an amazing show. She started right on time, with no opener*, played for an hour, took a short break and then played until 930pm! And she played a wide variety of songs, both old and new. I especially enjoyed Jolene (duh), I Will Always Love You, and the acapella one.
She's a little pipsqueak, too. She was hilarious and wore the sparkliest outfits I have ever seen. It has inspired me to rhinestone everything I own.
So overall, the concert was hella good. Despite the fact that I got caught twice trying to bring a camera in. I even tried to lie to the first guy and say it wasn't a camera and said I promised not to use it once he gave me a "Don't bullshit me" look.
Concert Grade: A+!
Next up...DOLLYWOOD!

Who Rocks The Party?
I saw this on another site. Basically you strike through those things not true about you. I would give you the link, but I already closed the box-suck it!
FEBRUARY:
Abstract thoughts. Loves reality and abstract. Intelligent and clever. Changing personality. Attractive. Sexy. Temperamental. Quiet, shyand humble. Honest and loyal. Determined to reach goals. Loves freedom. Rebellious when restricted. Loves aggressiveness. Too sensitive and easily hurt. Gets angry really easily but does not show it. Dislike unnecessary things. Loves making friends but rarely shows it. Daring and stubborn. Ambitious. Realizing dreams and hopes. Sharp. Loves entertainment and leisure. Romantic on the inside not outside. Superstitious and ludicrous. Spendthrift. Tries to learn to show emotions.
I dunno...what do you think?

More Lists Or You Won't Get Anything:

- I tried to blog some pictures earlier, but it wouldn't work and I wasn't about to sit there and try for the 4th time. Go look at my flickr.
- People who steal shit suck at life. Unless you're Winona Ryder because I really liked Little Women and Edward Scissorhands.
- I kind of want to read Chelsea Handler's new book.
- Anyone agree that Grey's Anatomy is going for the gross out award? I didn't really like the contest.
- My TiVo didn't get America's Next Top Model last night so I watched parts of it on YouTube today while at Pantera uploading pics. I won't spoil it for people who haven't seen it, but I wasn't happy with the decision.
- 48 Hour Film Project in DC is quickly approaching...anyone else participating?
- I almost bought a yellow shirt yesterday. SO unlike me.
- I had a weird/funny dream last night.
- I bought Zyrtec today since what I had been taking wasn't doing it's job. We shall see.
- The mind is a terrible thing.
- My car is being towed tomorrow to get fixed. My rental car gets 24 miles to the gallon-UGH! My car is much better and I miss it.

Host
It's funny when people ask, "How did you meet?" and you have to say, "Online", because, for me, inevitably, the next thing out of my mouth is, "But not in a weird way!"
So yeah, I met Ant yesterday, which was super awesome. I think he may now hold the title of "The First International Blogger I Have Ever Met"...and really, when I think about it, he might also hold the title of "The First Person* I Have Met From Across The Atlantic Who Was Not A Foreign Exchange Student At My School" which may be even more impressive. I hope he is excited to hold both of these titles.
I think he had a good time (?). I know Ali, Serena, and I did. After meeting at the train station we headed over to the monuments for the obligatory touristy stuff. Luckily, we were all in agreement to do nothing that involved a line** and after taking pictures of the ducks and monuments, we decided to go get lunch.
Ali's suggestion of Gallery Place was a good one and she led us to a restaurant she knows, which turned out to be quite tasty. This is also about when the pollen decided to attack me. I. Hate. Pollen. But you know what makes one forget about allergies? Beer. Lots of it.
So we went to a bar. Fado's, which is just down the street. We introduced Ant to the wonders of the Long Island Iced Tea and PA's own, Yuengling***. Sitting around chatting and drinking turned out to be a lot of fun. Unfortunately, the day had to end since he was headed back north at 5pm.
I did promise to compile the list of words and phrases for him to take from us back to Scotland. I fully expect to arrive in Scotland next May with Ali and hear these words as I step off the plane:
zip zoom
yabbo
wowzers
beep boop
bing bong****
He taught us quite a few of his own phrases from Scotland, but I can only remember "Loch*spit*". Oh, and pal.

*Bands don't count.
**What are people standing in line for at the Archives anyway?
***Although I still maintain that was either not Yuengling or it was the "bottom of the keg" because it tasted weird.
****Wouldn't want to hear that when getting off the plane. That would just be weird!

Cruise Control
So I haven't blogged in forever. I think it's because once I get here, there's just too much to say. So, to remedy that, I am going to do...bullet form!
XO,
SVR
*Note: I'm not a bad driver. I'm an excellent driver...what I mean, is that I can pretend to be a bad driver for a week.
+Title from Mariah Carey
- I got the estimate for my car today. $3800! WOW! Thank goodness it wasn't my fault.
- I got my rental car last night. Dodge Stratus. It's silver (I think...actually, earlier today, when I left the bank, I got confused because I didn't see my bright blue car) and has Maryland tags so now I can be a bad driver* and no one will think twice.
- My mom and I went to Leesburg tonight to visit my grandmother in the nursing home and then out for Mexican with my granddad and uncle. Before getting to the nursing home, my mom and I made pit stops at the jewelry store and the ABC store-I can be sure now that she is my biological mother.
- Just kidding, we look alike. Even though I'm way taller than her now. Especially when I wear heels.
- The men at the Mexican restaurant stared at me...not exaggerating. My hair did look really good today, maybe that was it. Or my control over the 1/2 priced margaritas! Ole!
- I had one of my out of control sneezing days yesterday. I used a box and a half of tissues. That's 150 tissues! That's a lot of tissues! And I even took two Claritin, wtf!? But what angered me even more than the incessant sneezing, were the people who kept giving me advice like I was sick. "Drink OJ!" "Have some tea, dear." "You need to rest." I WAS NOT SICK! I never get sick. I literally can not remember the last time I got sick. It was at least a year ago. So acting like I am a wussy, sick baby makes me angry. And today? I am fine. See! Not. Sick.
- I got the Mariah Carey CD for my mom and I to listen to on the hour long ride to Leesburg. We totally jammed to that shite. She loved it. My mom rules.
- ANTM should have kicked off Fatima. Can't stand that biatch. I would be happy with any of the following winning: Lauren, Anya, Kat. I'd even be okay with Whitney winning, but only if she stops talking about changing the modeling world.

Southern Girl
I'm in Lexington, VA. Here are some pictures:
I have a dirty mind.
These smell like ball sweat, but they're pretty.
The sky was gorgeous today.
I love trees.
