My roommates are out of town for the week so last night, when I got home, I decided to sleep upstairs. I just couldn't face the cold, clothes-covered bed in my own room even though it is incredibly comfortable. So instead, I slept upstairs and it was kind of like being in a hotel for a night! I slept differently, yet deeply, and had crazy dreams all night long it seemed. And then the light from the skylight woke me up so I turned over and put the covers over my head to get some more zzzzs.
It was nice. I've always loved sleeping in hotels.

The Sleep
Man has this past week been tiring. Starting with last Thursday I feel like I've just been trying to catch up on rest and relaxation when I can.
I was out late Thursday and then worked until midnight on Friday. Saturday I got up after just a few hours of sleep to take my parents to the airport. I had two naps that day before it was even 9am! I slept on the way to the airport and then passed out for an hour before work at my sister's apartment. Work that day was a blur.
Despite my tiredness, there were parties to attend. Ali and I headed over to our cousin's graduation party that turned out to be off the hook! They had two kegs for about 30 people and after quickly kicking the 1/4 one, my uncle headed off to pick up another. I was impressed. We had a good time and even caused quite the stir at the beer pong table because we were so good.
Sunday I was off and spent is doing nothing, which I needed to do.
Monday I worked at 7am, which was brutal, as always and that night I didn't get much sleep again! I was worried for Tuesday because I 1) worked at 7am again and 2) had tickets to see The Raconteurs that night!
Of course I went to the show. I think I would have gone even if Ali and Bearthaniel would have had to prop me up, haha! The Raconteurs were SO good. They were so good that I forgot how much my feet hurt and how tired I was.
Wednesday I was back at work at 9am, but at least I got to ride in HOV because the dark circles under my eyes had to sit in the passenger seat. I don't think I did anything that night.
Thursday was another regular day and Friday I had off. My initial plan was to just hang out and rest, but I'm never very good at staying home all day. Serena and Ravena were going to see the Sex And The City movie, but I hate paying for movies and rarely go to them. I also figured I would fall asleep during it anyway since they were going to a late showing, haha. However, at a bar I can stay awake and after Christopher called and said some people from college were meeting up, I headed out to meet up with them. I wasn't out very late, but somehow, as it always goes, I didn't get much sleep and headed into work on Saturday on very little sleep...again!
Per my daughter duties, I went to Dulles at about 730 to pick my parents up from their trip to St. Barths. I fell asleep while waiting in the cell phone parking lot. Awesome. Then I drove them home and turned right back around to go to a going away party in Fairfax where I stayed until 4am.
What is wrong with me? hahah! I had to rest my eyes before I could drive home and barely remember the conversation I had on the phone about 20 miles from my house.
Needless to say I slept way in today and will be having no trouble falling asleep tonight...unless someone calls with something fun to do!

How To Disappear Completely
Things are worse when tired.
Things are worse when tired.

Things are worse when tired.
Things are not that bad. Not in any way, shape, or form. I just need a little freak out moment. Thank you.

A-OK
Having to get up at 430am yesterday after a weekend of minimal sleep was beyond difficult. After a blurred work day, I got home at about 430pm and proceeded to pass out until 8. Now, I rarely take naps so this was completely foreign to me. And to then be able to fall asleep again later for a full night's sleep? Wow. This was one tired girl.
So yes, the weekend was a success. I entered it cautiously optimistic, but a little apprehensive about how we would all work together. We had a majority rule set in place to cut down on opinionated fights, but we didn't need to use it very many times and even then it wasn't a big deal. My biggest moment of needing to take a deep breath occurred Friday night/Saturday morning at about 5am when I was the only one trying to sleep and everyone else was laughing at what felt like cruel levels to my exhausted ears. I didn't say anything, though, since I was in the minority for wanting to sleep. And it worked out since the next night everyone was so tired they slept completely soundly, which allowed for everyone to get some much needed rest.
I'm proud and excited for the mini film we created! It cracks me up everytime I see it and I just hope it has the same effect on Saturday when it is screened at the Byrd Theatre on Cary St. in Richmond, VA. That said, I hope anyone in the area, or not in the area, comes at 330pm to see:
Heroic Solutions: A Superhero Training Module, Level 1
more info to come...

Crestfallen
And the ol' alarm is set for 5am. Why am I awake? I was walking into my house and texted Serena, "I'm going straight to sleep. Not even checking email" and where am I now? Blogging!? Why??
It was a fun, randomly eventful night with Serena after work. I am not a rested girl, so the fact that it's pushing 130am and I'm up is beyond me. I want to be asleep, but I'm not.
Okay, it's time to shut the laptop and hit the hay.

Bitch
If my celebration of America can be judged by length of day, then today was one helluva a party! I've been on the go since about 8am and just got home about 30 minutes ago. I am beyond tired, and yet, can't sleep.
Awesome.
Nevermind that my alarm goes off in about 4.5 hours.
16 hours ago I accidently sprayed perfume in my eye.
3 hours ago I got a text about poodle hair that made me bite my lip so I wouldn't laugh.
12 hours ago I had the best cherry coke I've had in awhile.
4 hours ago I was sitting on a couch in a food coma.
1 hour ago I was on my drive home and looking forward to going to sleep.
I guess I'll try that sleep thing again.

1995
I have been so in my mind today. I worked all day on about 2.5 hours sleep and struggled against a hazy mind and dropping eyelids.
Even now I'm not really sure where to begin...I need a good night's rest first.
