Hateful
Apparently cedar pollen is high today. Today I woke up feeling like someone had poured pollen on my face. Therefore, I am allergic to cedar trees. Therefore, I hate cedar trees.

Out Of Reaches
In a continued effort to be excited about spring*, I have decided that I need new clothes. I could probably clothe a small army with my sweaters and long-sleeved shirts I have for fall and winter, but once it's warm (and then hot**) out I just don't have the same vast wardrobe from which to choose my outfits. I wear a lot of skirts in spring and summer as well as jeans and once it's wicked hot out, I love to roll them up. Rolled up jeans are a look I will never tire of.
This year I want to wear a lot of dresses. Dresses are fun because they are classy and I am a classy lady. I got the Anthropologie catalogue in the mail today and, after asking it to marry me, I circled everything I wanted in it. Then I realized I would need to sell a kidney on the black market to afford everything I wanted. But hey, you never know!
XO,
SVR
P.S. I spent forever trying to find pics to show you guys, but the site doesn't have them as links and I gave up.
*For those who do not know me, I tend to hate the warm weather months. I am a winter girl at heart. However, I realize that I am in the minority and since being positive is a constant goal of mine, I am trying not to hate on spring. It's though, though.
**Breathe, Scarlet. Breathe. It will be okay.

Racing Like A Pro
I haven't really blogged in awhile. I don't even have the crappy laptop/internet excuse anymore. I guess it's because lately life has been super busy and I kept thinking I needed to get everything into a nice, neat paragraph when really I should have done bullets all along. In list form is always better...

*Do you know how difficult it was for me to say that?
- Someone at work the other day said we should have a "Women's History Month" display. I refrained from asking when Men's History Month is for fear of the typical "that's every month" response, but I did accidentally say out loud, "just don't put any feminist books on there." Well, one of the older women sort of freaked out and it was too early in the morning to explain what I meant. I just think it's a fall back to put up Betty Friedan books when a better display would involve books and works by really good authors who just happen to be female. AND the display should have cookbooks, and the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, and books about chicks doing things typically thought to be for males only. Wouldn't that be a better display?
- I am going to try to be more positive about spring. I still love winter above any other season, but since I am in the minority, I am going to try to find things to be okay with these warmer months. One thing I can't put up with are allergies, which is the main reason I don't like spring. But I do know I am one of the few who get more energized when it is cold and dreary out so I look forward* to it warming up because everyone will be getting out of their winter hibernation moods.
- Why is Drew Barrymore on Vogue?
- Why do people buy the following: K.D. Lang, Sarah Brightman, Amy Whinehouse, Chris Botti??
- So the Oscars are on tomorrow. I just hope No Country For Old Men and Javier B. win.
- And why is Tori Spelling on People!? Slow week? Is it 1991?? She could be pregnant with triplets and I wouldn't care.
- I have a spy operation planned for work. It began the other day. I will give more details when I can.

Silent Spring
I know this doesn't mean much, but even teasing about Spring coming sooner makes me want to scream. I loathe spring and think it's the most disgusting time of the year. Full of warmth and humidity and pollen. And pastels. I detest pastels. Even though summer is far warmer, at least it has the feel of vacation to it and I can kick it back mentally to being a kid with no school for three months.
So damn you, Punxsutawney Phil for not seeing your shadow and bringing joy to the freaks out there who don't enjoy winter. But I'll have the last laugh, PP, as I preduct a March Blizzard and frigid temps at least through April. (Ok ok....I'm trying, ok?)
